A one day course to gain a certificate of competency
for European waterways
Are you going European?
If you are intending to take your vessel onto European waterways, most
countries demand some proof of competency; the RYA International Certificate
of Competency (ICC) is the accepted certificate for British nationals (or
bona fide British residents) using British flagged vessels.
Obtaining your
Certificate
There are TWO ways to obtain your certificate: taking the ICC Practical
Test or producing alternative proof of competency in the form of other RYA
Course Certificates (the Inland Waters Helmsman's Certificate can be
obtained by completing the course with Top Lock Training). For European
inland waters your ICC requires a CEVNI endorsement which is a short,
multi-choice theory test on the 'Rules of the Road'.
1.Prior Certification
On successful completion of the CEVNI test, Top Lock Training will endorse
your ICC application form to which you will need to attach a copy of the
appropriate certificate, a passport-sized photograph and the fee.
2. ICC Practical Test
You will undertake a practical/oral assessment (as detailed on the RYA ICC
application form) and the CEVNI test. On successful completion of both
parts, Top Lock Training will endorse your application form to which you
will need to attach a passport-sized photograph and the fee. |
